Sunny Days

Professor Hart gave the assignment of capturing a weather photo this weekend. Although Fort Worth was overcome by a wild flash flood downpour on Friday night, the light was terrible and I was unable to get a good shot. However, it was an enjoyable experience watching the storm with great friends late into the night.

Instead of a dramatic weather picture, I decided to capture a child's wild Easter experience on a perfect sunny day. This year because returning home to Colorado to spend Easter with my family would have been too expensive, I was graciously invited to spend the day with my boyfriend's family in Paradise, Texas. The day was filled with great food, great conversations and plenty of egg hunting activities.

Ellie, 6, and Gunner, 4, celebrated Easter on Sunday, March 31, at their home in Paradise, Texas, participating in an Easter egg hunt on their ranch. Ellie and Gunner were eager and thrilled waiting for the family to complete the egg hunt countdown.. 3....2...1... HUNT! (TCU Photo/Kaia Naftel)
A giant Easter egg hid high in the branches awaiting Ellie and Gunner's surprising discovery. The egg was filled with giant candy bars on Easter Sunday, March 31. (TCU Photo/Kaia Naftel)
Gunner Eyster, a jubilant 4 year old, searched for Easter eggs filled with delicious chocolate, pop rocks, and sweet tarts on Sunday, March 31, at his home in Paradise, Texas. (TCU Photo/Kaia Naftel)
Ellie Eyster, a happy Cobb cousin, quickly attempted to gather more Easter eggs than her younger brother, Gunner on Easter Sunday. (TCU Photo/Kaia Naftel)
Brandon Cobb, Gunner's cousin, helped Gunner spot the big green Easter egg waiting to be found on the bird feeder. When Gunner spotted the egg, he swung his basket to knock it off, only to scatter the eggs already in his basket all over the ground. (TCU Photo/Kaia Naftel)
Gunner, 4, successfully retrieved the large green egg, only to have to regather every other egg he lost in the process on Sunday, March 31, 2013. (TCU Photo/Kaia Naftel)
The day was filled with endless family fun and contagious smiles.
